Clay Shirky: How Twitter Can Make History

A couple of weeks ago, Mark posted about a fantastic video featuring Clay Shirky talking about the participatory web. Last week, TED posted the video above, a presentation Shirky gave a little over a month ago about how Twitter can and will be used to make history.

One of the words often used to describe Clay Shirky is prescient, or the ability “to know beforehand”. This talk is evidence why. TED posted the video earlier than originally planned, given how relevant its was to the role social media has played in the events of the past week in Iran.

For those still wondering whether or not Twitter and social media matters (for better or worse), this video is worth every minute watched.
