The Power of Story – Remembering Things You Didn’t Experience
This clip is a bit old, but I just saw it for the first time. Its a promo for Season 2 of the This American Life TV show, and its a great demonstration of how powerful story can be.
I think the ability we have to place ourselves inside a great story is amazing. We imagine things in such vivid detail, with such clarity that it moves beyond story into the realm of experience.
Through story, we can live in worlds otherwise impossible to live in, interacting with folks we’d otherwise never meet.
