Telling Stories

I’m sitting and listening to Mark tell the story of how his perspective about how we gather in the Church has changed over the past 15 years. Last night, I listened to Michael talk about his journey of discovering the power of story and dialogue in helping students learn and connect with God.

I’ve heard both stories many, many times. I know these stories well.

And as I listened, I was riveted. It’s as if I’ve never heard either story.

I’m amazed not only at what great storytellers these guys are, but also by the power of story itself.

There’s a reason some people will see a movie 5-6 times in a theater even after reading the book it’s based on.

Because great stories-even the oldest ones-still seem new each time.
