Why Facebook and Twitter aren’t enough

Joel Postman recently wrote an interesting article about the very thing that Kelly and I have been discussing lately – do most people really need anything other than Facebook & Twitter – do they need a website / blog / portfolio site?

These questions become all the more interesting as you’re able to customize the facebook experience so it’s not so clunky.

We’re always aiming for efficiency and simplicity in our communication methods, and are always willing to take a step back and evaluate. If most of the people we communicate with are already in one place, is the effort in trying to get them to another place worth the energy – or should we just make the existing place better? We’re still in process with these questions, would love to hear your thoughts.
