Empowering Artists and Artists Empowering Others
I think a large part of web 3.0 will be the tools that not only connect people with each other the way web 2.0 has, but creatively facilitate cash flow between those people, especially when its for a good cause.
Two great sites I recently came across:
(1) Kickstarter – Connects artists with people who want to help fund all sorts of creative projects. I think this is a 21st century version of commissioning art.
(2) A Beautiful Idea – Artists create products that the site then sells, with proceeds going to selected charities (this month is World Vision).
The people thinking up these sites, and working to make them a reality are truly artists in their own right.
